About Me
I'm Destinee Patterson, the weekend evening anchor and multimedia journalist at KSLA News 12 in Shreveport, La. Since I moved to the ArkLaTex, I have covered...
-
Hurricane Laura's contribution to economic shortfalls in Louisiana
-
Back-to-back historic winter storms, which unveiled holes in Texas' electric grid
-
Significantly low vaccination rates and high COVID-19 cases inundating hospitals in Arkansas and Louisiana during the "fourth surge"
-
The deadliest year in Shreveport, La., beating the city's 1993 homicide peak
So, what do I do when I'm not reporting?
I'm a person who loves YouTube tutorials, musicals and a good romance novel.
You can otherwise find me curled up watching a movie with a bowl of freshly-popped popcorn.
And if I'm not relaxing at home, I'm probably hopping on a plane to meet my goal of exploring new places in (and out) of the country. My favorite city so far: Barcelona, Spain.
"Cheerleading" was almost synonymous with my name for most of my life.
I have cheered at various levels - recreational, high school and collegiate.
Cheer has molded me into the person I am today by showing me the importance of teamwork, passion and determination.
I'm currently a member of the Shreveport Alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
I am a proud spring '19 initiate of the Epsilon Psi chapter.
