About Me
I'm Destinee Patterson, a multimedia journalist at WRAL-TV. So far, I have covered...
-
financial challenges at one of Raleigh's historically Black universities, Saint Augustine's University,
-
the international PowerSchool data breach affecting millions of students and educators,
-
personal impacts of Hurricane Helene in western NC.
I previously had the privilege of anchoring and reporting at KSLA News 12 in Shreveport, La. and KOMU 8 News in Columbia, Mo.

So, what do I do when I'm not reporting?
I'm a person who loves YouTube tutorials, musicals and a good romance novel.
You can otherwise find me curled up watching a movie with a bowl of freshly-popped popcorn.
If I'm not relaxing at home, I'm probably hopping on a plane to meet my goal of exploring new places in (and out) of the country. My favorite city so far: Barcelona, Spain.
"Cheerleading" was almost synonymous with my name for most of my life.
I cheered at various levels: recreational, high school and collegiate.
Since retiring as an athlete, I've used my lessons and talents to coach the next generation on the basics of the sport.

I'm currently a member of the Raleigh alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
I am a proud spring '19 initiate of the Epsilon Psi chapter.
